Sensei Rodriguez

Jim RodriguezJames (Jim) Rodriguez has been training and teaching Nippon Karatedo Genwakai for over 40 years. He holds the rank of Rokudan (6th degree black belt) and is a licensed instructor. He founded and operated Ohio Budokan, a Martial Arts and Japanese Culture Center for over 25 years prior to moving to Texas. His studies include earning a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Yamate Ryu Aikijutsu and Renshi (4th degree black belt) in Tenshin Ryu Kenjutsu. He has trained in Urasenki Cha no Yu (tea ceremony) and Shodo (Japanese calligraphy). Mr. Rodriguez privately published a Martial Arts magazine, “Fighting Spirit” for 5 years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Internationally he travels to Holland to train and teach and has trained in Japan, Canada and Italy. For 10 years he taught arresting and handcuffing techniques to an Ohio county probation department staff. His students include military and police and he has traveled all over the United States teaching and training. He has promoted over 60 people to various black belt ranks.
